课程基本要求：
本课程在大学英语课程中属于较高要求，在英语一到四级的基础上，通过学习本课程，在英语语言知识方面继续增加词汇量，巩固语法；在语言技能和交际策略上，提高听力、阅读理解水平，口语、书面表达能力和翻译能力。
This course is for the students who have finished College English （I-IV）.In respect of language knowledge, students taking this course shall acquire language points, review grammar; in respect of language skills and communicative strategies, students shall develop their listening and reading skills, improve their speaking , writing and translating competency.
大纲内容：
一、前言
【课程目的】
本课程性质是公共英语课，在大学英语课程中属较高要求，通过学习掌握大学英语五级的课程内容，使已达到大学英语1-4级一般要求的学生，逐步达到较高要求。
【教学要求】
本课程总学时为50学时，其中精读32学时，听力18学时。
1.听力理解能力：能基本听懂英语国家人士的谈话和讲座，语速为每分钟150个词左右，能掌握其中心大意，抓住要点。
2．阅读理解能力：能基本读懂英语国家大众性报刊杂志的一般性题材文章，阅读速度达到每分钟70个词；在快速阅读篇幅较长、难度略低的材料时，阅读速度达到每分钟120个词；
3．书面表达能力：能就一般性的主题基本表达个人观点；能在半小时内写出 160个词的短文，内容完整，条理清楚，文理通顺。
4．翻译能力：能借助词典翻译一般英语国家报刊上题材熟悉的文章，英汉译速为每小时 350个英语单词，汉英译速为每小时300个汉字，译文基本通顺，达意，无重大理解和语言错误。
