The team responsible for the teaching of graduate English is composed of seven people - 郭小民 金琳， 李芳， 董晶， 刘雪飞， 吴泽扬， 施卫平.We approach our teaching materials in three stages. For every two weeks (12 periods), we usually spend 6 periods previewing, reading in depth, discussing and summarizing each reading unit we have selected of the New Century Englsih for Graduate Students. Preview is usually done by the teacher and the students in class together. The teacher will point out special difficulties to be encountered within the unit to call the students’ special attention to these aspects.Reading in depth is done by the students themselves, in the hope that the students will have a good chance to read and think on their own, to learn to study on their own. Discussion and special difficulty analysis take place after this, to clear any obvious or hidden obstacles in their previous reading and to ensure that no stone is left unturned. Summary is done last, to bring a conclusion home. Four periods are for popular medical reports, both as listening and reading exercise. Writing takes the rest two periods, starting from scratch and finishing off a complete essay. Additional listening is recommended outside of class for the students to do on their own to add to inadequate school sessions. We believe that in this way the students will have a comparatively good grasp of what they study.
